From touring choirboy to fringe theatre director, my experience has thrown me from television studios in Japan to the sweatiest venues at Edinburgh, all via white, middle-class Surrey and stints in many a gay bar.

 

My interests are eclectic. One moment I want to be a trance DJ; the next, a trial lawyer. So what the hell am I doing here? I love film!

 

I’m especially interested in the cathartic potential of film, hence my knee-jerk response that Mary Poppins, It’s A Wonderful Life, and Call Me By Your Name are my three favourite pictures.

 

Though my instincts veer toward the surreal and ridiculous, I care about telling stories full of feeling, whatever the genre. Be delighted; cry; but most importantly - feel.
